At the core of special education is the concept that we are expected to provide specially designed instruction to support the learning (academic, social, emotional, and behavioral) needs of students with disabilities. While exploring the Council for Exceptional Children's website, I came upon an outstanding article that I want to share. This article provides the best explanation I have found on the concepts of specially designed instruction, high-leverage practices, explicit instruction, and intensive instruction.
